AR Navigation Module
ARCore walking navigation with 3D animated guidance, calibrated from gyroscope and accelerometer.
Overview
An Android module that overlays walking directions onto the camera feed. Built on ARCore and Sceneform, it anchors 3D animated direction markers in world space and keeps them pointing correctly as the user turns.
The interesting problem was heading stability. Raw compass data drifts badly in urban environments, so direction is calibrated from a fusion of gyroscope and accelerometer readings rather than trusting any single sensor. Live OpenWeatherMap data is layered into the scene so conditions are visible without leaving navigation.
